To protect the public interest in real estate brokerage transactions.

  • To assure that applicants are competent and possess the requisite character and fitness to act as real estate brokers.
  • To assure that licensees comply with the Real Estate License Law and Commission rules.
  • To identify and address issues affecting real estate consumers and licensees.
  • To effectively and efficiently administer Commission programs and operations.

ETHICS AWARENESS & CONFLICT OF INTEREST REMINDER

“In accordance with the provisions of the North Carolina State Government Ethics Act, it is the duty of every Commission member to continually monitor, evaluate, and manage his or her personal, financial, and professional affairs to ensure the absence of conflicts of interest or the appearance of conflicts with his or her public responsibilities as a member of the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. Further, every Commission member should avoid both actual conflicts of interest and the appearance of conflicts in the way he or she conducts himself or herself as a member of the Real Estate Commission. If any Commission member has any known conflict of interest or appearance of conflict with respect to any matters coming before the Commission at this meeting, the member shall identify the conflict or appearance of conflict and refrain from any undue participation in the particular matter involved.”
